Participation in Pain Research

What if I am asked to participate in research?

Much research still needs to be carried out on the causes and treatment of pain. So you may well be asked by your pain specialist to take part in a research study.

Strict rules apply to such studies, and you will first be provided with oral and written information on the purpose of the study, on any possible harmful effects, on how long the study will last, and on whether you will be reimbursed for your costs.

It is important to remember that, should you decide not to take part in a particular study, this will have no consequences on your treatment at our outpatient clinic. Moreover, you will also have the right to end your participation in a study at any time, without having to provide us with any reason.
